SERVICING THE INDUSTRY FOR 55 YEARS
In 1967, Leighton Railsback saw a pressing need and resolved to do something good.
Dealership owners and parts department managers across the Southwest were struggling to keep up with the challenges presented by the automotive industry’s explosive mid-20th century growth. So, with pens and clipboards in hand, Leighton gathered a crew of a few “good people”, and Country Gentlemen Enterprises was born. Through Leighton’s leadership, CGE grew alongside the industry, from the humble beginnings of reconciling parts inventories in the old “card catalogs” to the fully computerized systems of the 21st century.

Ed Seelig
With industry expansion came an inevitable fact: dealerships change ownership.
CGE saw a new need – this time, it was in asset valuation for buy/sells. At the helm of this effort has been Ed Seelig. Since coming aboard the company in 1999 (then as a family member in 2001), he was tasked by Leighton to train under other industry innovators. Ed became an expert in the old-style market valuation, but knew it could be better. He personally oversaw a complete modernization of the method. Once an expensive, time-consuming, and cumbersome accounting headache, CGE now offers an extremely efficient fair market valuation for use by both potential buyers and sellers alike. His method not only secures fast delivery of this powerful accounting and negotiating tool, but also ensures equitable economic benefit to all parties involved. Ed’s input and expertise in this field are lauded by buyers and sellers alike.
Since its founding, CGE has always been growing and innovating. But there is no changing one fact: as a 3rd generation company, we still hold to our founder’s “good people” policy. And we’re proud of that. We’re always ready to partner with “good people”: employees and customers alike. And we remain a proud family-owned business.
